Finding Our Niche: Working with “Do Right” Business Owners

I was standing at my third and final day of open enrollment meetings. We had partnered with our client to offer an innovative employee health plan using a combination of Direct Primary Care, concierge scheduling for specialty providers, cash payments and personal coaching resources. I wanted to replicate this successful model for other business owners. Fortunately, the General Manager was also at the open enrollment meeting so I seized the opportunity to do a quick interview that unlocked our niche.

I asked him, '“what type of business leader do you think would be interested in replicating what we just did for your employees?” I offered a couple of examples such as creative leaders or those who like to challenge the status quo. None of those resonated with the General Manager. Instead he offered this gem of a response, “You really want to work with employers who want to do right by their employees.”

What a great response.
